Deacon Basil Frenchek, 71, who was attached to Saint Paul Cathedral here, fell asleep in the Lord on Thursday, January 15, 2015.
He and his wife Barbara were loyal and faithful long-time members of the cathedral, where he also served as Church School Director.
In addition to his beloved wife Barbara, Deacon Basil is survived by one son, William (Kelly) Frenchek; one sister, Evelyn (John) Olszewski; three grandchildren, Alyson, Madelyn, and Katelyn; and two great grandchildren, Lily and Levi.
Visitation will begin at Saint Paul Cathedral, 700 North Beech Daly Rd., Dearborn Heights, MI, at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 23. The Funeral Servicel will be celebrated at 7:00 p.m. Visitation will resume at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 24, with the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Dormition Monastery Cemetery, Rives Junction, MI at 1:00 p.m.
