Matushka Emily (Kuzemchak) Shuga, 91, formerly of Edwardsville, Homestead, and Latrobe, and wife of the late Archpriest Stephen Shuga, fell asleep in the Lord on December 7, 2022 at home in Latrobe, PA.
Born in Edwardsville, PA, on December 4, 1931, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Pelak) Kuzemchak.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Kuzemchak, husband Archpriest Archpriest Stephen Shuga, sisters Mary Cunyar, Anne Berniche, Helen Selima, brothers Peter Kuzemchak and infant brother John.
Matushka Emily is survived by her sister Irene (Kuzemchak) Malinchak, Hellerton, PA and brother William (Mary Ann) Kuzemchak, Smithfield, NJ. Children include sons Stephen III (Leonor) Shuga of Orlando, FL, Ilarion (Ruth) Shuga of Greensburg, PA, Gregory Shuga of Monroeville, PA, and Pamvia Shuga of Tampa, FL. Grandchildren include Carol (Jonathan) Shuga-Arce of Oklahoma City, OK, Kenneth Shuga of Orlando, FL, Michael (Stacy) Shuga of Greensburg, PA, and Matthew Shuga of Greensburg, PA. Great Grandchildren include Johan Arce-Shuga, Andren Arce-Shuga, and Alesso Arce-Shuga of OK.
Family and friends will be received at Savolskis-Wasik-Glenn Funeral Home Inc., 3501 Main Street, Munhall, PA 15120 on Sunday, December 11, 2022 between 1:00 PM – 8:00 PM with a Panikhida at 6:30 PM.
The funeral service will be held at Saint Gregory’s Russian Orthodox Church, 214 East 15th Avenue, Homestead, PA 15120 on Monday, December 12, 2022 at 10 am.
A Panikhida will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 1 PM at the Monastery Church, with interment immediately following, at the Monastery Cemetery of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk, South Canaan, PA.
