Matushka Judy Horosky, 77, wife of Archpriest John Horosky, fell asleep in the Lord at home on Ascension Thursday, May 17, 2018.
Born in Houston, PA on July 7, 1940, the daughter of Robert and Helen [Filius] Alderson, Matushka Judy attended the Chartiers-Houston schools. While living in Punxsutawney, she worked at the Punxsutawney Christian School and loved helping children. She and Father John faithfully served Saint John the Baptist Church, Canonsburg, PA, as well as parishes in Moundsville, WV; Monesson, PA; and Philipsburg, PA prior to Father John’s retirement. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and was very active in numerous parish activities and organizations.
In addition to her husband of 59 years, Matushka Judy is survived their daughters, Mary E. [James] Crites, Washington, PA, and Teresa [Dr. Bradley] McGill, Punxsutawney, PA; her sister; Dorothy [James] Moore, Houston, PA; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Funeral services were celebrated by Archpriest William Evansky, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Western Pennsylvania, at Saint John the Baptist Church, Canonsburg, PA on Monday, May 21, with interment at Oak Springs Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent in care of the McCabe Funeral Home.
