Priest Jose Raul Valencia-Salinas, a retired cleric of the Orthodox Church in America’s Diocese of Mexico, fell asleep in the Lord on November 10, 2015.
Born in Colorado on November 22, 1932, he would have been 83 years old this month. He served as a chaplain in Korea and was ordained to the priesthood in 1974 by His Grace, Bishop Jose Olmos. After his retirement, he moved to San Diego while maintaining a chapel in Tijuana, Mexico.
Visitation will be held at the Glen Abbey Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA, on Sunday, November 15, from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be celebrated at Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church, 3025 Denver Street, San Diego, on Monday, November 16.
