Translation Change for Communion Hymn for the Indiction
The translation of the Communion Hymn for the Indiction (Church New Year) on September 1 has been updated by the Translations Committee to more closely match the Slavonic text. Both the posted texts and the sheet music have been updated to reflect this change.
Updated Music for the Dormition of the Theotokos
The Department of Liturgical Muisc and Translations is pleased to announce that 269 pages of music for the feast of Dormition of the Theotokos, newly reviewed and edited, has now been posted to OCA.org. All the festal hymns are now available in both the Thou/Thy and the You/Your pronoun format. While no major changes have been made in the translations, slight adjustments have been made, where appropriate, in the musical settings, in order to make the hymns more singable. In addition, users will find the larger fonts used in the newly posted files to be more readable and user-friendly.
