On December 13, 2022 His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon celebrated the feast of Saint Herman of Alaska by presiding at the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at All Saints of America mission in Alexandria, VA. Priest Alessandro Margheritino, OCA Secretary, concelebrated with His Beatitude.
In his homily, His Beatitude spoke about Saint Herman’s devotion to the Holy Scriptures as an encouragement to us to follow his example. The Christian life is challenging, His Beatitude said, but “the healing Gospel of Christ is for all who wish to live a different way, a way that is filled with love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. The power of Christ can make this possible even when we think it’s impossible.”
