John Sedor, who chaired the OCA Pension Board from 2008 through 2015, was presented with the Order of Saint Innocent, Silver Class, by His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon and His Eminence, Archbishop Nikon at the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy at Saint Raphael Church at Saint Andrew House, Detroit, MI on Wednesday, October 21, 2015.
John’s wife Joanne was also present at the Liturgy, at which His Eminence, Archbishop Nathaniel of Detroit presided.
In addition to serving as Pension Board Chair, John also served as a Board member from 1992 through 2005.
“John was instrumental in bringing in the professional services of talented consultants in the legal, actuarial and investment areas,” said Maureen Ahearn, Administrator of the OCA Pension Plan. “It is widely accepted that without his leadership to include these professionals, the Plan would not be as successful as it has been.”
“The Orthodox Church in America, and especially its retired clergy and their wives and families, are most appreciative of John’s dedication during the 20-plus years he served on the OCA Pension Board,” added Archpriest Eric G. Tosi, OCA Secretary.
