On Wednesday, November 6, 2013, His Eminence, Metropolitan Philip of Poltava and Mirgorod, visited the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America, Syosset, NY. A bishop of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, Metropolitan Philip is in the US to present relics of Saint Vladimir to Saint Vladimir’s Seminary, Crestwood, NY, on behalf of His Beatitude, Metropolitan Volodymyr of Kyiv and All Ukraine, on the occasion of the seminary’s 75th Anniversary. While due to illness His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon was unable to greet Metropolitan Philip personally, he was given a tour of the Chancery and enjoyed a lunch with Chancery officers and staff members.
Metropolitan Philip will present the relics to the seminary after an akathist there tonight.
