During the first week of December 2017, His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, together with His Grace, Bishop Daniel of Santa Rosa and a delegation representing the Orthodox Church in America, traveled to Russia to participate in liturgical and other celebrations marking the 100th Anniversary of the Enthronement of Saint Tikhon as Patriarch of Moscow and the Restoration of the Moscow Patriarchate in 1917. Metropolitan Tikhon was one of the Primates and representatives of 13 of the Local Orthodox Churches who participated in the celebration.
During their visit, Metropolitan Tikhon and the delegation met with His Holiness, Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, at his residence in the Danilov Monastery. [See related story, gallery and video.]
