His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, celebrated the pre-Nativity and Nativity services at Saint Tikhon’s Monastery, South Canaan, PA. On the morning of the Eve of the Nativity—Saturday, December 24, 2016—he presided at the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at the Monastery Church of Saint Tikhon of Zadonsk. During the Liturgy he ordained Deacon Basil Ferguson, a student at Saint Tikhon’s Seminary, to the holy priesthood. That evening, Metropolitan Tikhon celebrated the Vigil for the Great Feast of the Nativity. On Sunday, December 25, he presided at the festal Divine Liturgy, celebrating the Lord’s Incarnation with the monastic brotherhood, seminary community and area faithful.
On Friday, January 6, 2017, Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the Nativity Divine Liturgy for the Old Calendar community at Saint Nicholas Cathedral, Washington, DC, and the festal Divine Liturgy the following morning. The cathedral was filled with faithful, many of whom are from eastern and central Europe. Following the Liturgy, a festive meal was held, during which Metropolitan Tikhon thanked the faithful for their faithful and dedicated service to Saint Nicholas Cathedral.
