His Beatitude, Metropolitan Tikhon, visited Mexico City January 6-9, 2018, during which he celebrated the Divine Liturgy and Theophany Blessing of Water. Concelebrating with him at the Sunday Divine Liturgy were His Eminence, Metropolitan Ignacio of the Antiochian Archdiocese and His Eminence, Archbishop Alejo. Also present at the Divine Liturgy was His Eminence, Metropolitan Athenagoras of the Ecumenical Patriarchate.
At the conclusion of the Liturgy, the hierarchs, clergy and faithful processed to the adjacent park, which also was blessed.
During his visit to Mexico City, Metropolitan Tikhon also was the guest of Metropolitan Ignacio, who hosted him at Saints Peter and Paul Antiochian Orthodox Cathedral. He also was welcomed at Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Cathedral by Metropolitan Athenagoras.
