On Sunday, June 20, the great Feast of Pentecost, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the festal Divine Liturgy and Vespers with Kneeling Prayers at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America. After Vespers, His Beatitude noted the profound depths of the theological witness of the present feast, and underscored that it is not a theology only to specialists, but to all Christian faithful. He also exhorted all believers to call on the Holy Spirit for help in their lives. He pointed to the action of kneeling that had just taken place in the Vespers service, and indicated that this is the proper way of interceding God for the grace of the Holy Spirit.
