Through the days of June 10 - 12, 2003, approximately 30 priests and deacons of the Romanian Episcopate took part in a retreat sponsored by the diocese at the St. Andrew House in Detroit, Michigan, and hosted by the fathers of the Ascension of the Lord Monastery. This was the first of two ROEA Clergy Retreats scheduled for this year, with the second retreat scheduled to be held on the west coast in November.
Coming from as far as the east and west coasts of the United States, and even from Canada, the participants heard presentations from the Very Reverend Archimandrites ROMAN (Braga) and Dr. MIHAIL (Filimon). Additionally, there was time for discussions, prayer and personal reflection.
The events concluded with the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy with the participation of His Eminence, Archbishop NATHANIEL and His Grace, Bishop IRINEU, followed by a luncheon and surprise birthday celebration for His Eminence.
