Help us “grow” the Stewards of the OCA!

Stewards

The Stewards of the Orthodox Church in America [SOCA] is growing, according to Raymond Boyd, OCA Stewardship Assistant, but “we still need your positive response to help us reach our 2016 goal of $75,000.00.

“The move to proportional giving from the dioceses is beginning, and that will eventually (over several years) assist more growth in our ministerial programs,” Mr. Boyd said.  “However, to fill the gap generated by our conservative budgeting, our SOCA membership is committed to assist now.”

In 2014, 178 members of SOCA donated just over $35,000.00 to provide additional funding for the OCA’s ministerial programs, Mr. Boyd reports.  The following year, SOCA members donated nearly $54,000.00.

“At present, we have identified 320 members toward our 2016 goal of $75,000.00,” he added.  “We are striving to embrace a total of 500 members this year—and if each member contributes $12.50 per month during this year, we will reach, or even surpass, our goal.”

Gifts to the SOCA are earmarked to support the OCA’s Departments—Christian Education, Christian Service and Humanitarian Aid, Evangelization, Institutional and Military Chaplaincies, Liturgical Music and Translations, Pastoral Life and Ministries, and Youth, Young Adult and Campus Ministries; Archives and Charities—as well as the Church’s efforts in the areas of Communications, Continuing Education, Diaconal Vocations, External Affairs, and Seminaries and Theological Education.

Donations may be sent to the Stewards of the Orthodox Church in America, PO Box 675, Syosset, NY 11791 or may be made on-line.
