Monk Silouan is the acting superior of the Monastery of the Holy Archangel Michael in Cañones, NM. After spending several years as Carmelite monk in the Catholic Church, Fr Silouan became Orthodox and lived at the Monastery of St John of San Francisco in Pt Reyes Station and Manton, CA, before being called to lead the small community of St Michael in the New Mexican desert.

After graduating from St. John’s College in Santa Fe, NM with a degree in liberal arts, she went to study theology at St. Vladimir’s Seminary. Upon completion of her degree in 2010, she relocated to Dallas, TX where she serves as the youth director for a local Orthodox church in the Antiochian archdiocese.
