On Sunday, November 8, the 22nd Sunday after Pentecost, and the feast of the Synaxis of the Archangels, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon presided at the celebration of the Divine Liturgy at Saint Sergius Chapel at the Chancery of the Orthodox Church in America. At the conclusion of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude served a Panikhida for his predecessor, the newly departed Metropolitan Theodosius. He also prayed for Helen Detke and Gregory Sulich, both long time workers at the Chancery, whose memorial anniversaries came at the end of October. At the end of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude reminded the faithful that we have all been assigned a guardian angel from God, and that the leaders of the heavenly hosts, Archangel Michael and Gabriel, defend us against the powers warring against us. His Beatitude also welcomed back Archpriest Basil Summer, who was able to attend services at the Chapel, albeit through digital means, for the first time since last year due to health reasons.
