On Saturday, March 13, His Beatitude Metropolitan Tikhon traveled to Christ the Savior Church, Berlin, MD, in order to serve a Panikhida for Protopresbyter Daniel Hubiak, on the Fortieth-day Anniversary of his falling asleep in the Lord. Prior to the Panikhida, His Beatitude was able to meet with Matushka Dunia and her family at her house and share memories of Father Daniel. After the Panikhida, Priest John Parsells welcomed His Beatitude to the parish. Metropolitan Tikhon then gave the community a brief word, in which he called to mind the many years of service that Father Daniel offered to the Orthodox Church in America. He exhorted the faithful to emulate the same spirit of service that Father Daniel and Matushka Dunia showed throughout their years of ministry. His Beatitude also reminded everyone that through his intercessions, Father Daniel continues his labors for the Orthodox Church in America.
