Strength in Unity is a documentary of the 2012 Memorial Day Pilgrimage to St. Tikhon’s Monastery in South Canaan, PA. Founded in 1905, St. Tikhon’s is the oldest monastery in the USA and the main monastery of the Orthodox Church in America. On Sunday May 27, His Beatitude Metropolitan JONAH celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Mayfield, PA (located 13 miles from St. Tikhon’s). After Liturgy a procession went from St. Johns to St. Tikhon’s on foot, recreating a century old tradition.
On Sunday, April 8, 2012, at the St. Nicholas Cathedral in Washington, D.C., His Beatitude Metropolitan Jonah explained the significance of the Rite of Consecration of the Holy Chrism.
